Terra Alimentaria is a fully open-access academic journal. We firmly believe that making research freely accessible to the global public promotes a wider international exchange of knowledge and accelerates scientific progress in agricultural and food sciences.

Open Access Declaration

Terra Alimentaria provides immediate, worldwide, barrier-free open access to all its content upon publication. In accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) definition of open access, users are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to the full texts of these articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself.

Creative Commons Licensing

All articles published in Terra Alimentaria are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Under this license, authors retain copyright of their work while granting anyone the right to copy, distribute, transmit, and adapt the article, provided the original author(s) and source are properly cited.

Key Principles of Our Open Access Policy

  • Immediate Availability: There is no embargo period. All articles are accessible in full text (PDF and HTML metadata) immediately upon online publication.
  • No Reader Subscription Fees: Readers, academic institutions, and libraries are never charged subscription fees, paywalls, or document delivery fees to access published content.
  • Author Rights & Self-Archiving: Authors retain unrestricted copyright and publishing rights. Authors are permitted and encouraged to deposit all versions of their article (Pre-print, Author Accepted Manuscript, and Published Version/Version of Record) in institutional repositories or personal academic profiles, as detailed on our Self-Archiving Policy page.
  • Permanent Archiving: Published content is preserved in digital repositories and long-term preservation networks to ensure the permanent integrity of the scientific record (see Digital Archiving Policy).
