Call for Papers: Submit Your Research to Applied Biofilm Science

The editorial board of Applied Biofilm Science (ABS) officially invites researchers, clinicians, and industry professionals to submit their original research, comprehensive reviews, short communications, and methodology papers for our inaugural issues.

Traditional microbiology often divides research into strict "environmental," "industrial," or "clinical" categories. However, biofilm-forming pathogens do not respect these boundaries. Applied Biofilm Science is a new, peer-reviewed Open Access journal dedicated to breaking down these silos. We publish translational research that explores the entire continuum of biofilm survival—from persistence on food processing surfaces and agricultural environments to clinical infections and antimicrobial resistance in human hosts.

  • The Matrix and Microbiome: EPS composition, multi-species consortia dynamics, and quorum sensing.

  • Control and Eradication Strategies: Novel antimicrobials, surface coatings, bacteriophage therapies, and physical interventions for both industrial and clinical settings.

  • Methodological Innovations: Advanced techniques for culturing, visualizing, and quantifying biofilms.
